Anna Paquin’s Trick R Treat Movie

Anna Paquin’s movie entitled Trick ‘R Treat may finally be seen be fans as news surfaces of its release two years after its completion. Despite great reviews and lots of buzz from the few screenings the movie had Warner Bros still has not released the movie into the theaters and now there is talk that it will go directly to Blu-ray/DVD this October. Based on reviews, Trick ‘R Treat is a well-crafted film with a large following who have been anxiously waiting for its release, preferably on the big screen.

The movie tells the tale of Halloween night when it is said that the dead rise to walk among us and other unspeakable things roam free. The origins of All Hallows Eve was based upon rituals that had to be conducted in order to protect oneself from the evil that lurks during that one particular night of the year.

The movie is set in a small town where an unsuspecting couple learn a terrifying lesson that some traditions such as blowing out a Jack-o-Lantern before midnight can have dangerous consequences. The movie follows four women who cross paths with a costumed stalker at a local festival; a group of pranksters goes too far and discovers the horrifying truth buried in a local legend; and a cantankerous old hermit is visited by a strange trick-or-treater with a few bones to pick.

Treat ‘R Trick looks at the dark side that lurks around us and sometimes within us to provide us with the ultimate fright: the unknown.

Okay, I'm gonna have to see that. I'm amazed that it's been two years. I wonder why the delay or what happened to keep it from being released. Hmm...sounds like there's more to this story.

The success of the ‘X-Men’ franchise has spawned a number of future films, including ‘X-Men: First Class.’ That particular installment will concentrate on the younger X-Men characters. Will that include Rogue?

Over at IGN, Anna Paquin, who plays Rogue, indicated that she’d definitely love to reprise the role. However, she has one request for screenwriter Josh Schwartz:

“You know, as much as I loved doing those films I was kind of like, ‘OK, so when do I get to beat someone up? When do I get to steal some powers?’ You know Sookie [Paquin's True Blood character] gets to do more action than Rogue ever did. So I’m just putting that out there. More action please, for next time.”

We completely agree. We’d love to see Ms. Paquin kicking some tail.

Joint movie project for Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer

Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer will both make an appearance in Andrew Paquin’s latest movie “Open House“. With the horror thriller “Open House” Andrew Paquin makes his writing and directing debut, previously he was involved as a producer in projects like New in Town, Humanzee, Blue State (starring Anna Paquin), My Feral Lady and Balkanization.

The movie, shot in Los Angeles, tells the story of a wealthy couple in a strained marriage that hosts an open house in order to sell their palatial home. They are horrified to find out days later that one potential buyer never left their house.

In a recent live chat with the LA Times Anna said she shot her scenes for Open House in her brother’s garage: “we shot it this morning!! in his garage “poor mans process”. Also Stephen has finished shooting his scenes and the project is currently in post-production. Anna and Stephen will be playing the characters named Jennie and Josh.

Other cast members are Brian Geraghty (Easier with Practice, The Hurt Locker, I Know Who Killed Me, When a Stranger Calls, Jarhead), Rachel Blanchard (“The Flight of the Conchords,” Snakes on a Plane, “7th Heaven,” “Clueless”) and Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Gallactica: The Plan, “Battlestar Gallactica,” Them, “Burn Notice,” “Supernatural”).

No release date is currently known.

Very cool, can't wait to learn more about this one.

New film project for Anna Paquin: “The Romantics

According to Variety Anna Paquin is to star in the new romantic comedy “The Romantics” along side Liv Tyler, Josh Duhamel and Katie Holmes.

Written and directed by Galt Niederhoffer The Romantics is set on the eve of a wedding celebration, seven close friends gather to watch two of their friends get married, but the maid of honor and the bride have had a long rivalry over the groom.

Anna Paquin’s Trick ‘R Treat out on DVD

Warner Premiere’s long delayed debut of Trick ‘R Treat starring Anna Paquin, Dollhouse’s Tahmoh Penikett and a robust ensemble cast is coming to Blu-ray Disc and DVD on October 6, a couple weeks earlier than originally expected.

Trick ‘R Treat will ring Blu-ray’s door dressed up with a 2.4:1 1080p transfer and 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio.

Though the DVD edition is being released the same day, Warner is clearly playing favorites with Blu-ray by giving the high-def format all the cool supplements:

The movie follows five interwoven tales set on Halloween night: a suburban couple learns the consequences of blowing out a jack-o-lantern before midnight, a high school principal moonlights as a vicious serial killer, a young virgin whose quest for that someone special takes a gruesome turn, a group of teens carry out a cruel prank with disastrous consequences, and a cantankerous old man battles a mischievous trick-or-treating demon.

Anna's new Movie to show at Sundance



“The Romantics”, written and directed by Galt Niederhoffer, takes place over the course of one night at a deluxe seaside wedding. Seven close friends—all members of a tight, eclectic college clique—reconvene at a seaside wedding to watch two of their own tie the knot. Lila (Anna Paquin) is the golden girl preparing for her dream wedding, and Laura (Katie Holmes) is Lila’s maid of honor. Once college roommates, Laura and Lila have been best friends since their first meeting on campus, but Lila’s groom, Tom (Josh Duhamel), is the man they have long rivaled over. Promiscuity and hi-jinks abound as the drunken friends frolic in the nearby surf and revel in the nostalgic haze of their glory days.

Galt Niederhoffer received the 2007 Sundance Audience Award for producing Grace is Gone. She also produced the Sundance Film Festival films Lonesome Jim, Dedication, Diminished Capacity, Birds of America, and Hurricane.

“The Romantics” will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
