Natalia Livingston to exit General Hospital

Natalia Livingston's run as Rebecca Shaw is coming to an end. The actress, who returned to GH just nine months ago, won an Emmy in 2005 for her work in another role on the ABC soap.

Natalia Livingston's (Rebecca Shaw) second go-round in Port Charles is about to come to an end. Livingston, who previously enjoyed a five-year run as Emily Quartermaine, returned to General Hospital in January as an Emily look-alike. A General Hospital spokesperson confirms to soapcentral.com that Livingston and her second GH alter ego are about to be written out.

"We were thrilled that we were able to get Natalia back for a second run, after her Emmy-winning turn as Emily Quartermaine," a General Hospital spokesperson tells soapcentral.com. "The character of Rebecca Shaw will soon depart the canvas and Natalia has decided to pursue other projects. A beloved member of the GH family, the entire cast and crew wish her well in all her future endeavors."

Livingston joined the cast of General Hospital in April 2003, taking over the role of Emily from fan-favorite Amber Tamblyn. Livingston remained with the ABC soap for five years, but her exit was not as smooth as the actress may have wanted. In June 2007, Livingston rejected claims that she was leaving the show. In a statement, the actress blasted what she called "sensationalist" web sites and print publications for making up stories about her status with the show.

Shortly thereafter, Livingston's character was killed off as part of a serial killer storyline. The actress, however, stuck around on the show for a few more months, appearing as a ghostly image. Livingston made her final appearance as Emily in May 2008. During her tenure with General Hospital, Livingston earned a Daytime Emmy win for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2005.

A final airdate has not yet been announced nor has it been revealed how Rebecca will be written out. (PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.....just write the character off!) It was stupid & dumb to start with!

Love the JJ is back, but is it me or does he still look 12 .. Aged a little to well, because he looks like he belongs in the teen scene. Wouldn't mind see Him and Maxie again now..lol..

I really like Liz & Nik together.....makes her a little dark and something other than talking about "her boys". I don't remember this guy playing Lucky & I don't like him - he is too young looking for me and kind of feminine. Maybe it is just the character right now is SOOOO annoying with his "blind love Liz"

NO WAY would I be opening my arms to welcome my husbands college ex-party girlfriend into my life and to stand around listening to them have so much fun about the good old days -- HELLO, slap, slap....wake up woman!! And lord knows she is a lot prettier than Robin with her terrible haircut and nasty, crooked teeth.

I was starting to like Lulu but this non-sense of almost outting Dante as a cop is insane, just shot him and get it over with. Not sure how she is turning a blind eye to Sonny.

I think Maxie is about the only believable way for Franco to access GH. Yeah, he's got Jason hangups, but he needs a credible entrance into Port Chuck.

She will be making her final appearance on GH as Emily, a vision/ghost to Nikolas just before Christmas. She and Nikolas will discuss their life together and his current life. "Emily" will encourage him to be honest with those he loves and to move on and be happy and to live his life with honor.

Jonathan does have a young look to him, which is why he keeps the scruffy facial hair. But trust me.....he IS Lucky. The real Lucky. I agree his blind devotion to Liz is wearing thin. but don't blame JJ...blame the writers. He's a really good actor and his scenes with Tony are still amazing.

I agree. I used to love the Robin character, but now she just annoys me. And I've never liked Patrick.

Well, it had to happen. As long as there were other Cassadines around, they could pull off Nick being the "good boy" because of Laura's influence. They killed off so many Cassadine characters, now they have to "turn him" to have a big, bad. Helena doesn't cut it any more. We'll see about Valentin.....I predict Nick will end up saving PC from him. It's in the writer's nature. But first, they'll play with his dark side.

I hate any LuLu/Dante scene/pairing. As for turning a blind eye to Sonny, it's like this:

Sonny and Luke go way back. Seriously back. When Luke would disappear and LuLu had a crisis, she turned to Sonny and he was always there for her (this was especially true when she was considering her abortion). Sonny felt he owned it to Luke to watch out for his only daughter and he did, many times; always with respect and affection. Consequently, her heart trusts Sonny even when her head tells her she shouldn't.

Having said that....she should know better than to go to Sonny to feel him out about what he'd do if someone he thought he could trust was a cop. He's too smart not to pick up on that and like you said, she should just shoot Dante and get it over with.

It will come to blows between Sonny and Dante and Olivia will finally have to step in and confess that Dante is his son, right before Sonny or Jason off him. I've seen this coming since the day Dante walked onscreen.

As for Franco.......I'm waiting to see what his obsession with Jason is all about. Did you catch him standing there grinning and waving to Jason as the limo pulled away? What's that about??

Loooove that James Franco is on the show. I swear if I wasn't so happy with JaSam I'd like to see Franco with Sam. They'd be HOT! I'm hoping to still get some sexy flirting scenes between the two. Maybe even make Jason jealous.

I love that JJ is back but yes he does seem like he's 12 in a way. The facial hair isn't working for me either. JJ doesn't seem like the cop type either. It was great to have him back through and then have them show the flashbacks from the 90's and such.

I want the Olivia and Dante story to hurry up and come out. Too many people know to keep it a secret anymore. Just give it up already and tell Sonny. Lame!

WOW...Franco is one sick mother...him & Jason meeting today was freaky...like he was getting ready for a date....

General Hospital has been so good lately with Jason, Sam and Franco. Steve Burton was brilliant yesterday in that scene. I was shocked, in awe and a bit scared. He plays emotional angry so well. Wow!
