Due to high demand from our host phpBB it’s been brought to our attention that we need to place an age limit restriction when it comes to the Chat Room. According to them Moonlight Vampire Society is getting a heavy volume of viewers coming in and out of the site. All of those different viewers has the possibility of bringing in sensitive age groups. So far, the Forum is obeying all of their “Terms of Service” (TOS) rules. With that said our focus is towards the chat room.

Even though the chat room is not associated with phpBB it is however under their “umbrella” if it were. Therefore what happens in the chat can in the long run effect the rest of the MVS site. We have to be very careful with the younger crowd because we don’t want a TOS violation report against us. This could easily result in shutting the site down and I for one do not want that. This does not mean that we (adults) can not have a “mature conversation” it just means that there will be a place to limit those conversations to.

As many of you know when Fang Friday’s rolls around we all head to the chat. Those conversations tend to get rowdy with strong adult content. These conversations are only adult appropriate (18 +) and need to be avoided by the younger members.

We for one do not want to exclude people so we’ve decided on a plan to meet everyone in the middle. Here’s how the new chat room plan will work. As of today I have created multiple chat rooms. They are as follows…

1. Chat Lounge *Primary* (Chat for everyone of all ages)

2. 18+ Lounge *Adults Only* (Password Protected: for Adults Only)

3. Vampire Sires *Admin Only* (Password Protected: MVS Administration Only)

Now those of you looking to get into the 18 + chat need to contact me or one of the Moderators for the password. Once you get this Password we expect your discretion, it is for your use only. Do not give it out to others or we’ll be forced to send Maximus Fang in to take all your privileges away.

For those of you who get the 18 + password for access here’s the new system to follow…

When you click on the chat room link it will bring up the chat room screen. Chat Lounge will always be the primary chat room. To switch to 18 + Lounge just click the down arrow next to Chat Lounge to show you the entire chat room list. Click 18 + and sign in as you normally would with your name and password. It will sign you in to the chat and then a pop up screen will come up that says, “This room is Password Protected. Please enter the room password to proceed.” Only when you enter the correct password will you be able to chat with everyone.

Tip: When you're in one of the chats you can flip back and forth to another one. While in the chat just double click on the chat you want to go to that is listing on the right hand side. The chat name on the screen in front of you will change and say, You have entered "Chat Name". You won't be able to see what was said before you entered but it's a nice feature since you don't have to sign out and back in to move through the chats.

If anyone has any questions, concerns or comments regarding the new chat room(s) please let me know. Otherwise, continue to enjoy the chat rooms and those of you looking for passwords please let us know.

Thanks Candy. Just a thought, it might also be good to use this thread to let the Admin and/or Mod know that you're looking to get the password to the 18+ Lounge.
