IN THEATERS MARCH 27TH 2009 – NOW!

BASED ON A TRUE STORY:

The Campbell family must move to Connecticut to be near the cancer clinic where their son Matt (Kyle Gallner) is receiving cancer treatments. The only home that Matts mother Sara (Virginia Madsen) could afford to rent was an old Victorian house that at one time was a funeral home. Sara kept this information secret from the rest of the family until strange things began to happen. Matt saw things first, but he thought it was a result of the cancer drugs that he was taking. Dishes breaking, doors closing, lights flickering, and ghostly shadows began to frighten the family. Sara finally tells the family about the houses dark past. A friendly priest (Elias Koteas) enters the picture. With a little research at the local library, they find that not only was the house a funeral home, but also a place where the owners clairvoyant son Jonah (Erik J. Berg) provided a gateway for spirits to crossover and communicate with their love ones. Now unspeakable terror awaits, when Jonah returns to unleash a new kind of horror on the innocent and unsuspecting Campbell family.

I always knew that Kyle Gallner was an amazing actor ever since seeing him on Veronica Mars as Cassidy “Beaver” Casablancas. From what I’ve seen so far of him in The Haunting in Connecticut he really is quite an impressive actor. Doing a horror movie can’t be easy with all the expressions and emotions you have to express to the audience cannot be an easy task but I can tell you this, he seriously has freaked me out.

I’ve been watching horror movies since I was a little girl, I’m talking at the age of 2. The men in my family were addicted to them and I would sit and watch along with them. I can honestly say that the genre really hasn’t scared me in a long time but this movie really made the hairs on the back of my neck stand straight up.

The Haunting in Connecticut is a fascinating story. One Saturday years ago Kevin and I were in our old apartment, everything was pitch black and we stayed in bed watching a marathon of scary shows about real life haunting . Even the TV version gave me chills and it was just small time actors and a narrator so to have it come to the theater with all the Hollywood perks of CGI and special FX is going to be a scary adventure.

You can check youtube and see the TV version in parts. It was actually on TV today also. I believe it was on Discovery.

:ROFL: That was the greatest night! I remember it was 14 hours of non-stop horror and towards the end of it Candy went to get drinks and I jump out from the dark. The woman hit the ceiling! I think the neighbors thought I was killing her. ::Snicker:: It was the best! Trust me this woman doesn't scare easily and it was a great accomplishment for me. Of course after she caught her breath and her heart moved back down from her throat she proceeded to kick my @ss but it was all worth it.

I agree, the tv show was pretty creepy so with them bringing it to the big screen with all the technology they can bring to really making this show freaky will be a lot of fun. The shower scene on the tv show was pretty wicked but that version is even better.

Beaver! Kyle Gallner, What a very talented young actor. It looks like he really does do a great job in this movie. We should just go see this movie. I'll go get my shoes on.

Hey baths can be very relaxing... and sexy! Showers are merely efficient. ;)

O CRAP! This movie looks so scary, awesome. Did you see the scene where he had the writing all over his body? That is insane. I really want to go see this movie, lets go.

::LEANS IN::

Flo, tells us more about these baths you speak of. Give us more details. Uh err, I only ask for research reasons. I'm putting a Bathing 101 Guide for Robert Pattinson. Should be good, pictures and all.

OMG Jeremy, you are killing me! LMFAO! I'm all about the research so I'm happy to contribute to your bathing guide for Rob.
