I am just now getting into Bones with the re-runs now running non-stop.

Emily Deschanel says Booth-Bones pregnancy unlikely next season.

We wuz robbed.

Not only did Bones and Booth not have baby-making sex on Bones last season, they probably aren't going to creating a l'il Brennan anytime soon, as Bones star Emily Deschanel says it's unlikely her character will become pregnant anytime soon.

"There are complications along the way of [Temperance and Booth] discussing having children," Emily explained during an appearance at the 49th Annual Monte Carlo Television Festival in Monaco. "I think it's very possible she will be pregnant in the future but I don't think its going to happen right away. I think she has some growing to do."

"Everyone is aware that once you get the two characters together you lose that glue that holds the show together, which is that sexual tension," she said. "I think they are being very careful about how to move forward without destroying that tension."

*#@%!!!

Emily also revealed part of season five's guest-star lineup, which includes a very famous lady rock star…

Apparently performer Cyndi Lauper will be stopping by next year. Emily said, "I don't think [Cyndi] will be playing herself, but I'm not sure what role she'll play, they're debating it now." Emily says the guest gig came about when, "I sang 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' in one episode. She saw it and was interested in being in the show. She was an idol from when I was a child so I will probably be beside myself that day."

Stephen Fry will also be backk, and it's still true that Emily's sis Zooey Deschanel may stop by the Bones set one of these days. (FYI, Emily's cinematographer father Caleb Deschanel has directed a Bones episode, and her mother Mary Jo Deschanel, an actress, guested on House last season as Kutner's mourning mother.)

Emily says of the possible sister act, "[Zooey] is interested in being on the show, and I know [Bones executive producer] Hart Hanson would love to have her on the show. It's just a matter of finding time where she's available…It's very difficult because she's always working as an actor or touring as a musician or recording, she's very busy. So just getting the time together to get her to work on bones has been difficult but hopefully by the end we will have her on the show."

Thanks for the Scoop Drea! I'm fine with them not rushing the pregnancy. Really. I'm excited about Stephen Fry returning and the prospect of Zoey guesting on an ep! Good stuff!

This isn't much but...

Spoiler:
From Ausiello at EW.com:
Question: What's this I hear about a Booth and Brennan kiss on Bones? Confirmation, please! --Molly
Ausiello: Series creator Hart Hanson confirms that a season-opening smooch "was scripted," but adds, "I'm in no way confirming that it was a sincere scripting. Could have been a way to identify leaks." Now, as someone who's been in this situation before, here's what you need to do next, Molly: Get in touch with your mole and tell him to pack his bags, grab his passport and get the hell out of the country. They're onto him!

Spoiler:
Question: Any info on Bones? --Grace
Ausiello: The show is looking for an actress in her late teens to play Cam's adopted daughter Michelle. I know what you're thinking: "We've already met Cam's adopted daughter Michelle!" Do I have to draw you a picture? Obviously, we're going to learn that Cam's got another adopted daughter around the same age and with the same name. Duh.

From E! Watch with Kristin... And I'm with the audience! I gotta admit that I'm not too happy with Hart! I hope he stops playing games with his loyal watchers.

Bones at Comic-Con: What the Heck Is Going On With Booth & Bones?

Fri., Jul. 24, 2009 7:45 PM PDT by Carrie Borzillo-Vrenna

"Dream sequences do not count!"

Thus was the angry shout-out by an audience member after today's Bones panel moderator (TV Guide magazine's William Keck) asked show creator Hart Hanson if getting Bones and Booth "between the sheets" was done just to give the fans what they wanted.

Other audience members booed at the words "between the sheets" clearly expressing their disappointment that the ill-received season finale hook-up between Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) was just a dream. "No it was the plan to have that happen," said Hart about whether he felt pressured by fans to hook these two characters up. "I saw the season finale as a love letter to our very, very loyal fans." Really?

Yes, really. Read on...

Season Finale Backlash: "I hope in retrospect the season finale will become more and more likable to our loyal fans," he continued. "Though, I think the loyal fans got it. The people who tune in every once in awhile didn't like it as much. And, I definitely heard about it." At least Hart has a good sense-of-humor about the backlash, saying that he received some tweets from fans calling the finale a "fail-naly." He found that funny and so do we. "I think it was somewhat anticipated on a level. We knew that some people would be upset," Emily told us after the panel. "It's a tricky thing."

Should They or Shouldn't They?: When they polled asked the audience if they wanted to see Booth and Bones hook up for real on the show, the audience applause was tremendous. That was until they then asked the audience if they did not want to see them hook up and the applause was even louder, to which Emily joked, "I feel like there was double voting going on there too."

So, will they or won't they is still the big question for this 'ship. "I think they are two people that do belong together," said Emily. "I think they complement each other in great ways. I would love to see them together. But I do see that it's dangerous. It's tricky because you don't want to lose the sexual tension between us."

That said, she admits, "It would be odd if Booth and Brennan were a married couple. It would definitely change the show, but it's something that we've thought long and hard about. I don't know. I think I'd like to see them together, but maybe really together toward the end."

After the panel, Hart told us that he does know if the two will get together for real or not, but, of course, he's not going to share his plans. "Can I say, it's penciled in?" he joked. Sure. It's about the journey not the end result, right?

Where in the World is David Boreanaz?: What's David got to say about it? Unfortunately he couldn't make the panel, but he sent a videotaped message to the fans to explain why: "I'm a little bit stuck in Los Angeles due to the fact that my wife is on the 34th week of delivering our second child. It is going to be a girl."

Next Season Teasers: It's not yet determined if we'll get another sex scene this season. We're guessing no. But Hart did say of the finale sex scene: "I have the raw footage. We may have to put it on a DVD some day." What we do know about the next season is that it picks up six weeks later and after Bones returns from a trip to Guatemala. We also know that her baby plans are on hold and that Booth is still in a state of confusion at the season opener.

Also coming up next season is guest star Cyndi Lauper, who plays a psychic who is involved in a case and also gives her insight on the pair. ("Yeah, she may see me with a certain man," teased Emily.) And, yes, the casting came about after Emily sang Cyndi's '80s hit "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" on a previous episode. "That's what Cyndi saw and got in touch with us and said she'd like to be on the show. She's in the season opener," said Hart.

Let the debate continue in the comments below: Should Booth and Bones really be together or not?

An excerpt from AVClub.com's Comic Con Diary"

It was time for Bones after that, a panel I was planning on mostly zoning out to catch up on work, but damned if the irrepressible Emily Deschanel kept winning me over. David Boreanaz was stuck in Los Angeles with his wife, who is due to give birth to their second child any day now, so it was pretty much just Deschanel and creator Hart Hanson. Weirdly, Deschanel received the third-biggest ovation I heard all day, losing to Jim Parsons and Joss Whedon, but just barely edging out Edward James Olmos. The old maxim about women wanting to be her and men wanting to be with her probably applies.

The duo showed off a clips package featuring lots of gross and icky moments from season four (which suddenly made the show's continued presence at Comic-Con make a lot more sense) then sat back for some good-natured hectoring about how the season finale - a largely tangential dream sequence/Hart to Hart fan fiction riff that featured the two main characters as a married couple and everybody else as, like, bar owners and stuff. The finale was roundly pilliored, and while Hanson tried to insist the hardcore fans took the episode for the love letter to them that it was, we all knew the truth. There was also an extended discussion of how Deschanel's concern for animal rights issues colors some of the show's scripts, followed almost immediately with Hanson saying that in a future episode, the team was going to visit a chicken farm, complete with impeccably timed comic stare from Deschanel.

Most of the questioning, of course, centered on whether or not Deschanel's character and Boreanaz's character would sleep together, and when the audience was prompted to cheer for the two getting it on or the two keeping things platonic, both options received almost equal applause, which surely makes Hanson's job that much easier. All in all, it was a fun panel for a breezy show, and it ended up enlivening what could have been a dead stretch of the afternoon.

Ausiello interviews Emily and Hart! I gotta say I'm wondering why I totally resent Hart for playing games with me as a viewer but I don't mind when Kripke does it on Supernatural. Hmmm....

Here's a bit of the panel with Emily and Hart. Sorry it's a bit shaky and the sound is off but it shows how much fun Emily was having with Hart and the interviewer.

Maybe this is telling you that you have a bigger crush on David than you do on Jensen? Ummm....I'm telling Jensen!

Great interviews, I miss this show but I'm still enjoying the reruns. I can't wait to see what happens with the next season.

More Bones news... I'm glad that they're not glossing over something as drastic as a brain tumor but if they screw with the chemistry btw Booth and Bones I will get on a plane and bury Hart Hanson just like the Gravedigger did to Bones! Consider yourself warned Hart!

Bones': Booth's brain isn't better yet

By Rick Porter

August 1, 2009 4:22 PM

It's safe to assume that Seeley Booth will eventually recover from his brain injury on "Bones" -- after all, the show has been picked up for two more seasons.

But the Booth (David Boreanaz) fans see at the start of this season won't be the same hypercompetent man they knew before the injury sent him into a coma -- and a dream state in which he was married to Brennan (Emily Deschanel).

"It's an interesting thing that's going to happen," Boreanaz said Friday when the summer TV press tour visited the "Bones" set. "What I really want to maintain with the arc with him ... is that he does have a remembrance of certain things, but he's not as adept at other things as he thought he was."

Some of the things he doesn't remember are little ones: In the season premiere, for instance, Booth doesn't remember that he tends to wear brightly colored socks with his standard-issue FBI dark suit. Others might be more serious. "Whether it's knowing how to interrogate someone, and he doesn't do a certain thing and [Brennan is] looking at me going, 'This is what you usually do,' and I'm just a tad slow on that -- those are the little nuances they kind of discover."

Executive producer Stephen Nathan also says that the dream sequence that closed the season won't be dismissed out of hand either.

"I think it's a matter of rediscovering [Booth], and in that process rediscovering Brennan," Nathan says. "That's why that event, while it might not have been technically real, was very, very real to them as characters. ... They see each other differently."

"It makes me want to reinviest my time and energy into that relationship," Boreanaz adds. "Because I don't remember certain things, now we're back to ground zero."

ETA - After threatening Hart I found the following snippet of news. Guess I'm not alone! ;)

At a Friday visit to the "Bones" set, executive producer Hart Hanson addressed the controversy over the show's season finale. "When the audience fights amongst itself, I feel like we've done something right," Hanson said, though he joked that, of the 4,000 people in the audience at the "Bones" panel at Comic-Con, "1,000 hated me." Star Emily Deschanel and the show's executive producers said that what transpired during that episode would continue to affect the characters ("It's in our minds," Deschanel said). In particular, Booth's time in a coma would affect his memory in the new season. He'll be "rediscovering Brennan," in a sense, star David Boreanaz said. Also, the show will continue with the rotating crew of lab assistants, and they may even add one or two more to the roster.

Whoa! I'm a bit scared! Wow, she means business people, don't screw it up, I'm not sure I can or WANT to hold her back.
